Attachments Changing on Forward

Some of my users attachments are changing when they forward emails that contain attachments. The filenames are changing to 8 character capital letter and number strings with no file extension. The client version is Notes 6.5.5 and the operating systems are a mixture of Windows 2000/XP.

Any help would be appreciated.

Subject: Check Outbound Attachment Encoding

I don’t know if this is the answer, but the fact that it is only some of your users initially points to a location setting.

In the user’s location document, check the Advanced\Mime Settings tab under “Outbound attachment encoding method”. Make sure it is Base 64.
