Attachment viewer problem

The following steps cause my 8.5 Notes client to lock up.

  1. Open an e-mail with “xlsm” attachment

  2. Right-click attachment and choose “View”

  3. Opens in another tab just fine and I can see contents

  4. Close the view tab

  5. Close e-mail with the attachment

  6. Go back to InBox

I don’t have Office 2007 installed on my PC - just Symphony.

After closing the e-mail, I can put focus on other e-mails but can’t open them. The only thing I can do is force an OS restart because Notes won’t even close.

PC is Windows XP SP3.

The spreadsheet contains 23 worksheets. It is a questionnaire from one of our customers (we are a software company). It doesn’t appear to have any images or charts - just questions.
