Attachment size limit

Hello.

I still have problems with receiving attachment which are bigger than 3-4 MB,but now I also get the following error message when I send an email with an attachment bigger than 2.2 MB

Error transferring to forward1.registrar.NO; SMTP Protocol Returned a Permanent Error 552 Message size exceeds fixed maximum message size.

Earlier advice from you out there has been to set the value of “Maximum message size” (Message configuration | Router/SMTP | Restrictions and controls | Restrictions) to zero KB. However,the help text for this field says:

“Messages larger than this size will not be transferred or delivered”

Maybe it should be set to 25.000 KB or higher?

Is this any “new” functionality in 6.5 which not have been discovered earlier, and/or is it several other parameters which also have to be adjusted.

Have you tried clearing the restriction field out, then bouncing the server, and tryign to send mail? Just to make sure this is not the point of error? Are you using mail file size limitations as well?
