Attachment on the web

Hi,

I want to add an attachment on a web document without saving the document. Is that possible and how can I do it?

I´m using a file upload control and when I save the document, the attachment will appear on the document, but I don´t want to save it. Just have an upload button which uploads the file.

Please help

Best Regards

Henrik

It’s possible,

You can use it using AJAX + ADODB.STREAM.

Using this both you can upload files without saving document and you can place the files in the server where ever you want, if you like to keep into as notes document.

Note:-

  1. We need to change browser internet options (adding site under trusted website + low security options)

  2. Server should be in windows (with this solution)

  3. When we use Adodb.Stream in the notes agent then we have array limitations, so I created vb.dll, we have to register this dll in the server. (this one time process)

I have implemented this.

Thanks

AFAIK - You must save the document. You will not be able to upload an attachment only without a corresponding document.

If You have a document then open the document and the FileUpload control will attach the uploaded file automatically to the opened document.

Why don’t You want to save the document?

Henrik -

I don’t think that’s possible. When you add an attachment, it becomes part of the document, so if you don’t save the document there’s no way I know of that the attachment will magically appear.

What is your goal? If you want the attachment to be part of the document, then you’ll have to save the document for that to happen. If you just want the user to be able to look at the attachment when the document is open on the web, how about storing the attachment on the server and putting a link to in on your web page?

Using querysave agent extract attachment into hard drive then set saveoptions as “0”
