Attachment File Names truncated

When I double click an attachment in a email and select the OPEN button, the filename of the attachment gets truncated. This also happens when I drag the attachment onto the desktop.

But if a use the SAVE button instead of the OPEN everthing works fine.

It also happens when there are several attachments and right click using the SAVE ALL option, the filenames get truncated (to around 20 characters each)

Any ideas or is this a bug?

Subject: Attachment File Names truncated

Xavier, I can confirm that this appears to be a bug. Any filename in excess of 31 characters in total is truncated in Office 2004 for Mac when opened in the way you describe. The truncation is applies to the filename prior to the extension so at least the extension is retained. I believe this has been present since 6.5. Can someone at IBM acknowledge that this is a bug?
