Attaching documents from inside a Folder

Hi,

I have a user who, when he tries to add an Attachment from inside a folder (shortcut on his desktop) he can not do it as the Notes Client tries to attach the folder as a link - I know this a known problem.

I think there is a NOTES.INI setting to fix the issue but I can not remember what it is - does anyone know?

Hi, I don´t understand your question…

What folder do you mean, a SystemFolder or a NotesFolder ?

And is the shortcut inside Notes ?

if you wan´s attach all Files from a SystemFolder into a NotesDocument then it´s no problem…

No the user wants to attach a document (word, excel etc) from within a shortcut folder he has on his desktop. But when he uses the Attach File option in Notes, browse’ to his desktop and clicks on the Shortcut folder, to browse inside it, Notes does not let him. It tries to attach the shortcut folder as an object, rather than letting him browse inside and find the correct document.

Hmmm,

I have a 7.02 client, and it works fine.

Unfortunately, we don´t have any 6.xx clients in our company any more. So i can´t test it.

Maybe, you should think about an upgrade…

We are actually about to upgrade to 7 - but I read about this same issue before and there was a NOTES.INI setting to fix the issue so I was hoping someone would know it. I already tried searching for it but couldn’t find anything.

Guess he’ll just have to wait for 7

I haven’t heard of this problem. But you can also, as a workaround, find the file using Windows Explorer and drag-drop it into a rich text field.

I have 6.5.1 client and it is the same problem as Murray explains.
