Assign to do document to somebody else AFTER I had saved it as to do for myself

I don’t understand why it’s not possible to change the assignment from “myself” to “others” after I saved the to do document. I doesn’t reflect my work style to fix this assignment only on initial creation, as then I often don’t know who will be the right person to do this. SoI might just save the to do for myself and recreate it later for somebody else, deleting the original document for myself - this is messy!

I thought about just unhiding the field TaskType (GUI-labeled “Assign To”) but don’t know if all group to do functions (like rescheduling etc.) will work or if the original saving as personal to do has some uncontrollable side-effects.

I could do some code review and testing, but maybe somebody else already has done this and can tell me if I can just unhide that field?

Yes, that does look like a flaw…

The workaround is to always choose “Others”. Just don’t choose any names when you first save it. It will still show up on your list as if assigned to you. When you open it, you will have the option to add names to the Required, Optional, and FYI fields.
