ASP (xSP) Documentation

I am looking for any documentation on how to setup hosted organisations.

My Domino 6.0.1CF1 server (Red Hat 9) was setup with xSP support. The normal certifier is working fine, but i am unable to setup any hosted organisations. If I want to add a hosted organisation (just for Notes clients) in the administrator client, I need to present a cert.id. But since I want to do separate (hosted) organisations, I am locked. Or do I misunderstand this feature?

Is there any redbook or other documents (other than the online help) which describes the xSP support?

Thank you for your support.

If you have problems to register new hosted organisations, try this: Check your location doc, be sure that your homeserver is set and your mailfile is on server.

Tommy,

Thank you for your response.

Yes, my location document reflects the correct server and mail file location. But when I want to register a new hosted organisation, the system prompts for a cert.id.

What I wanted was to create several cert.ids for all hosted organisations in Notes.

ok

You use the first cert.id when you created the xSP server to register the hosted organization.

When you register a new hosted organization a new certifier ID is created for that organization. Then you use the hosted cert to register users.

Hi Andy,

Looks like you have solved this, but there is some good info on xSP in the Upgrading to Lotus Notes & Domino 6 Redbook.

You were not very clear or specific in describing your problem, so its difficult to offer help.

When you install the first xSP server the Notes domain top level certifier id file is created. This is the certifier you should use when you create your hosted organizations. When the Administration client creates the hosted organization, it creates a new certifier for each new hosted organization. The new hosted organization certifier is the certifier you will use when registering users in that organization.

You reported “But since I want to do separate (hosted) organisations, I am locked.”. What does “I am locked” mean? What error message did you actually see?

Peter,

Thank you for your response.

My xSP server had initially only one O= organization and this cert.id was migrated into an icl database.

When I wanted to add a new hosting organization I was asked for a cert.id. But I initially thought that the hosted organization are not related to any other cert.id, as you could set up several O= organisations in R5 (with or without cross-certification). And since there was no way to specify an CA controlled cert.id, I got confused.

So I setup a new xSP server and gave the first (and only) cert.id in the “create new hosted org” dialog and voila, it worked fine.

So my problem was in understanding that the initial O= organization needs a cross-certification with the new hosted organizations.
