I have created a working interface in VB.NET for accessing the Domino Server, but I have noticed that this interface uses my local notes.id and notes.ini file. I want to develop an ASP interface instead of a VB.NET interface. I am not too familiar with ASP.
My question is this, will an ASP page use the notes.ini and notes id of the local machine, or of the server the ASP page is stored on?
Thank you in advance for your help

Without knowing the details I’d have to say that the ASP.net web solution would use files on the Server, since that would be where the page is processed before it is served to the browser.
You VB.net application executes locally, so it would use local resources.

Thank you for your help.
Using the COM dll to interface with the Domino server, you use different methods of logging in on the server and on clients. That answered my question…

From what I have read about it, running it on the client will use the currently active user id, but running it on the server, you will need to provide a valid user name and password to be able to connect to the server via COM. The server’s ID will not be used.
