I’m sure there is no simple answer to this question. But I would like to start an LDAP server within my company. We are on the current version of Domino, Quickr, Sametime, and Lotus Connections. I’m currently running Windows 2003 Server and have Active Directory. With that said in the near future, I want to move the Lotus Connections onto a Linux box.
So I’ve never have used LDAP, but it looks like all these applications recommend using it.
First question… What is the recommendation on what LDAP Server to use? With almost all my applications being Lotus… Is it best to use LDAP within Domino? AD? or another Product?
Second question… What are the recommendation (Specs) for the type of server? Single or Dual Core? Memory? etc.
I know that I’m asking a lot, I have over ten years experience with Lotus/Domino, but I have no experience with LDAP and my understanding is it’s best to do this right the first time then trying to just play around with it.
If anyone could give me some recommendations or point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.
