Arguments for not containing external users emails in mail group in Domino Directory (names.nsf)?

Any argumens why we should not enter external users email addresses in team mail groups in the Domino Directory on our mail server? Just wondering…TIA

Subject: None I Can Think Of

The only caution you may want to consider is identifying someone (or some functional position) in the Group document who can be referred to so that you can validate and update the external members of the group. Otherwise, I can’t think of a reason not to do this.

I am having a vague recollection of issues when an SMTP client (usually another server sending out reports to a group) used the Domino Server as a relay. If the SMTP client sent mail to a group internet address, it worked just fine if the internet domain mail routing was managed by the Domino infrastructure. But, with SMTP relaying locked down, we had to make special provisions to allow relaying if the group contained external internet addresses.
