Argh! 852 Upgrade Added Design Task at 1

I don’t believe it!

I recently upgraded 2 of our servers from 702 to 852 and this seems to have resulted in a change to the servers notes ini:

BEFORE: Servertasksat1=Catalog

AFTER: Servertasksat1=Catalog, Design

This is a total pain because now all my roaming users have had their names.nsf and bookmarks.nsf upgraded to 85 design even though they are still using the 702 client. What a mess. I’m completely bewildered by this because there is potential to do plenty of damage if design runs and you are not properly prepared for it.

Is this intended behaviour? Has anyone else noticed this? Could something else have caused this? Any feedback is appreciated.

Unfortunately, this has been the default behaviour ever since I came in touch with Notes/Domino (R3, that is). Yes, it can cause a lot of damage.

Thanks for your feedback guys. I don’t remember seeing this one in the upgrade cookbook. I’ll have that added to my config docs so this doesn’t happen on the rest of our servers. I wonder if there are any other flags like this one that I don’t know about.

Subject: Default behavior. Use SETUPLEAVESERVERTASKS=1 to avoid it.
