I have developed an application in Xpages. When I run it from internet browser it works like a charm. Its quick (relatively) and stable. But when my users try to access it through notes client the horror starts. The response times goes down to something around 30 seconds.
Can anybody tell me if this is normal ? I blamed my lack of knowledge about Xpages and VPN which is used to connect to company network. But the VPN does not explain why it works really quick when using Internet Browser (same server, same network).
I did a little experiment and created a simple application without any logic, which could be blamed for low performance (simple xpage with a bit of html + some nice graphic + two views from external databases) and the performance on client was still horrible. When I accessed is through web browser is was quick.
Please share Your thoughts on this. I really don’t know if this is me or simply xpages on notes client aren’t ready for real life application.
