While designing my (what seems to be) 50,000 th form, I couldn’t help but think how nice it would be to have something like CSS for the Notes client. You just know that a month after the approval of the design, management is going to change the branding and will want the colors on all of the forms changed accordingly.
Will we ever see anything like css for the client?

have you ever tried using stylesheets with your forms? it’s basically CSS.

No how do I do that?
For example
How would I set up a style sheet for a table to set the tickness of the border, margins, width of cells, color of cells etc?
The only place I am aware that you can set a style is on text.

Just create the css file as a shared resource in Designer and then insert it at the top of your form - viola! CSS support isn’t perfect, but the basics are all covered. For a quick proof of concept import an existing css file as a shared resource, insert resource at the top of the form and then preview in Notes. There’s also a pretty good article on this in a recent Lotus Advisor.

Notes has supported css (style sheet resources) since r6. See the Designer help topic ‘Creating style sheets as shared resources’ for details.

Thanks for pointing out the article. But it really does nothing more then discuss how to insert the css file on your form. It does not tell how to apply the css to your design elements.
P.S. I do not have access to Advisor.

If you scroll down, there’s a section title “Table of supported CSS properties”. The header row tells you the selectors that map to which Notes elements, e.g. maps to document,
maps to a layer, etc. The rest of the table tells you which css properties are supported for which Notes elements. The rule is standard css. For example, to make all text on your document red, create a .css file with this rule: body {color: red}.
Then create a css resource in Notes by importing the .css file, insert the resource on to your form.
Hope that helps.
