I think you are asking, can you write LotusScript event code in a view that uses global variables, and can those variables be variants?
Yes, but the globals are only available within that view and only while it is open. There are no such things as globals that are usable over the entire database, nor do any variables remain in memory when you close the design element in which they were declared.
If that is not what you meant to ask, please be more specific about what you want. It also is not a bad idea to describe what you need the application to do, in case someone knows a better way than the one you chose.
