Are there any sample form repositories?

Hi there,

I’m good with formula, lotusscript, etc, but I’m really not the abstract-creative type. Every form I create in Notes is extremely simple - basically just a table with prompts in the left column and fields in the right column, all on the plain vanilla white background. Any time I try to get creative, the results are disastrous, and look awful.

The only time I can ever design nice-looking forms is when I “borrow” idea from other forms. I was wondering if there were any websites, etc that had sample forms/ideas/anything else to help people like me.

Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

Ben

Get a color wheel from an art supply store. Use that to put colors together that work. Then always make your text/data a dark color, unless you select a dark color scheme. Then make your text/data a light color.

Thanks for the idea, but it’s not the colors that are my real issue. It’s more with coming up with creative ways to use design elements such as tables, sections, etc to give my forms a little more life and professionalism, as well as make them easier to use. Granted, good color choice is definitely part of that, but it’s layout-type of stuff that I’m really looking for.

Hi Ben,

I’m right there with you in the design department. I’ve been an avid reader of Chris Blatnick’s blog lately for just that reason (blog is here: http://interfacematters.com). It’s been immensely helpful to me. I’ve used some of his tips in my more recent applications, and it’s made all the difference in the world. He even has some examples specifically for client-based applications, rather than web-only.

Hope it helps you too!
