Arcserve Domino Agent software -- doing a restore, file is too big

We use the Arcserve Domino Agent software to backup our Domino databases. I am trying to restore a database which is 39Gb in size, however when it restores it becomes 77Gb – which is too big to be opened by Domino. I can not Compact or Fixup either.

Any ideas why Arcserve is making it so big after a restore?

Or how I can open it?!

Since you did not receive any answer (yet), I suggest that you do so experimenting with a small database and check the sizes in the restored verson. Is the number of documents the same? Looking at the properties of a single document, do you find new attribues or are existing attributes getting bigger? Maybe NotesPeek will give you some clou of what is now bigger.
