One of my users just archived their server based mailfile to a server based archive. They did not use the “archive selected docs” option but instead used the mailfile based archive criteria.Rather than archive to the server, notes created a LOCAL archive using the same path specified in archive settings.
Archive logs show 1100+ docs archived, and these are not in the mailfile any more.
We opened the archive, and although the file is 19MB, there are NO documents in there.
I have had a look on this forum, and lots of people are having problems with archiving, but I cannot see this specific problem. Apologies if this is an inadvertant “re-post”
Does anyone have ANY ideas on what could be wrong here? The filesize of the archive seems to imply that it has copied something, but I cannot see any documents (although the folder structure has come through to the archive).
Subject: Archiving seems to have lost all documents
Howdy,
Have you checked the archive database’s Database Properties dialog box (2nd tab) to see how many documents are in the database?
If the archived db has a different form name or doesn’t have a default form, this could cause it to appear that there were no documents in the database.
That’s where I would start troubleshooting this problem.
Subject: RE: Archiving seems to have lost all documents
I am having a similar problem of missing documents from an archive file even though the file size would indicate the documents should be there. When I look at the db properties, it shows there are 23 documents when there should be over 200. The file size is over 1 gig but when I open the db properties it says it more like 350 megs. I am not sure what is being suggested by the “default form”. Any help is appreciated.
