Archiving problems while upgrading to Notes 6

Anyone else encountered archive issues with upgrading R5 clients to Notes 6? We have upgrade about 125 users, and have run into arhcive issues with most of them. The most common error that we are getting is “Invalid or non-existent document” when testing the archiving after upgrading.

To resolve the issue (even though it says elsewherein this forum to not do this) we are doing the following:

  1. upgrading Notes client from R5 to 6.0.1.

  2. Upgrading welcome page with custom bookmark template

  3. Upgrading mail file to iNotes60. Upgrade folders using included agent.

  4. Consolidating the archive settings (default for last modified, etc.) into a single Archive option called “Archive”,

  5. Upgrade archive to iNotes60 template. Upgrade folders using included agent.

  6. Test archiving

This works for us. I know that there have been posts that say not to upgrade the template of the archive, but this has worked for us. Also, I noticed that if you don;t upgrade the template on the archive, the first time that do you archive, it half updates the archive template anyway, and switches the temaplte design to iNotes60.

Anyone else had similar problems with upgrading?

Tim,

How did you “consolidate the archive settings to just 1?” I am trying to use Archive policies to push just one archive option to users.

Thanks for any advice.

I have the same problem - no solution as yet. Copying the archive process - copy mail to clipboard - paste to archive - delete original - works fine.Quite frustrating.

I had the same problem, only thing I found that worked was creating a new archive and cut/paste everything from old archive over into the new one
