Archiving Problem - "Server based archiving not enabled on database mail/xxx.nsf"

I have about 1,200 users registered on 7 different servers (one at each location). At this office, I also have a server NotesArchive01/MyCompany with a 2.5Tb RAID attached to it.

I created an explicit policy for archving everything over 60 days old, and applied this to every user in my NAB.

I have then set each remote server to replicate its mail/ directory to NotesArchive01 every 12 hours.

I came in to work on Saturday, I connected to NotesArchive01 and I issued the command

load archive -a mail/

and then went and did some work on the network in another building. When i came back it was still going so I went home.

I’ve come in to work today to find that it’s been largely successful except in the cases of 34 users where an error has occured:

10/01/2004 13:16:48 Server-based archiving not enabled on database mail\tjones.nsf

During the course of today I’ve tried everything from manually editing the archive criteria to running fixups and deleting and recreating the replica on NotesArchive01 but I still can’t get these 34 users to successfully archive.

I know what the error message “means” but as far as I can tell it’s incorrect (the archive criteria includes “From NotesArchive01/MyCompany to NotesArchive01/MyCompany”).

If anyone has a suggestion to what I could look at or alter to get this to work, I’d be very greatful.

Thanks

Steve

I have exactly the same problem. It is a pain, because I suspect that this is exactly why my policies don’t work either.

Hi, same problem here.

Anybody found a solution or workaround?

Thanks,

check out if the archive profile is correct and the mail box has an owner.

I had this issue as well. I fixed it by adding myself (via an admin group) to the ACL of the mail file with Manager access.

I assume because I enabled archiving for them under “Full Access Administrator” that when the archiving happened it rejected because I was not in the ACL.

I would try creating a new mail file with a standard ACL for this user.

Then I would try and archive that. You will see immediately if it works.

If it does then there is a corruption in the original mail database.
