Alright, here’s the situation…I wanted to set up archiving for some of my users, so I decided to set it up for myself first. So in my Notes client I went to my archive settings and configured it to archive from the server to the server (I don’t want it to be local) and configured a rule that would let me archive selected documents. I also selected to log all archiving activity into a log database. I have Administrative rights to the server and the ability to create new archives. So I went to archive some documents, the computer thought for a bit, while showing that it was creating a database, and then the documents disappeared (as planned). So I went to open the archive and received a “Server error: File does not exist” message. It seems that the archive database was not created but the log database was, and according to the log database, all the documents were moved into the archive no problem.
So, I created a policy that I have applied to my user that set up archiving rules to go to the server, did a ‘tell adminp process all’, restarted my Notes client, and got the same result.
I hopped onto a test user’s ID on a virtual PC (so a dif. Notes installation and config), applied the mail policy to that user, and the archive worked instantly.
Any ideas?
