We are using backup exec v9 and have turned on archived logging. I have searched all over the internet looking for what to select for the incramental backup. We have a full scheduled once a week after compact - B is run. Inbetween we need to do incramentals because our disk space is not large enough for defferentials. But what do we select to back up for the incramental?

From the Veritas documentation:“Where archive style transaction logging is used, the archived log files serve as the incremental backup for the logged databases.”

so would that mean to choose the archive logs on that drive, we have done that but in a restore test we chose a database form the full and then tried to do a restore to time of the day after but does not apply the transaction logs to bring it to that point

Using net backup from veritas rather than backup exec but I expect they work the same. We don’t specify a drive or path or files when backing up the tx logs; just give it the Notes.ini and tell it to backup the logs (which must be archive style, not circular or linear.) When a restore runs it uses the Tx logs present on the hard drive, and temporarily retrieves any it needs from tape.

We’re also trying to use net backup with D6.5.3 and tx logs. How do you “give it the Notes.ini”? Sorry, I don’t see anyplace to do that. We’re just running a nightly incremental backup of the tx logs, but their archive bits are still set and the drive used for the tx logs is filling up. Isn’t net backup supposed to uncheck the archive bit when it backs up a log file so that Domino can reuse it?
Thanks
