Archive Policy Question / Observation

Notes Archiving using policy vs. client configurations.

Just wondering if anyone else has come across this.

I configure my mail file to archive using a server-to-server configuration set it to reduce the document size using the document selection as expired document older than 0 days.

When I run “compact -a mail\mailfile.nsf” it archives off and does not delete documents, it leaves a blue mark on the document in the main mail file and moves the contents of the mail to the archive.

Starting on another mail file (no settings) I apply a server based policy with exactly the same settings as I have listed above. When I run the same compact command it deletes the document from the orginal mail file and moves them to the archive.

Has anyone had experience with this / comments / solutions.

Cheers,

Scott.

Anyone from Lotus got a comment on this … anyone?

We had a similar problem and we won by setting the tag in the Advanced Setting to “Don’t delete documents that hav responses” at Policies - Settings - Archive Settings. May be this can be useful, too
