Archive Policy Not Taking Effect

I gave created an explicit archive policy and assigned that policy to myself (for testing). No matter what I do I can see no evidence that the archive policy is taking effect.

My person document has the explicit policy set

The explicit policy is linked to the archive policy

My mail database does not show the archive rule set in the policy (after opening and closing Notes client several times)

When archiving runs I get a message saying no archive criteria set

My PAB has all the latest policies downloaded from the server

I can see evidence that other polices setting (e.g. desktop) are taking effect from the same explicit policy

The only way to get archiving to run is to set the archive criteria manually. But this is what I am trying to avoid (for a company wide implementation).

Subject: Archive Policy Not Taking Effect

Is “Specify a client based archiving policy” checked in the archive settings schedule tab? The client refreshes the policy settings a few seconds after the it opens. You can check to see what policies are applied by going to the hidden view ($policies) in your personal address book.
