Archive overwritten?

I had a strange issue today with archiving.

The user had an archive setup locally that looked fine. I could open the db through the workspace but when clicking on tools, achive, then the archive link, I got the message "Server Error, file does not exist.

So, I took his archive setting out (the profile), closed notes and opened, to see if the link in the inbox would be gone. It was still there.

I renamed the cach.ndk and opened notes and still the link would not open to the archive. I renamed the bookmark.nsf and then reopened.

I gave up, so I put the same archive settings back in, the manually archived 1 email. That email should have gone into the current archive! Notes recreated the archive and the user’s archive file was overwirtten by this new archive?

Has anyone experienced this before?
