We have mail archive databases of all mail more than 90 days old. From that archive database we would like to make another archive of mail more than two years old. The idea is to make the 90 day archive smaller and to copy the two archive to tape and remove it from the system.
When I open a mail archive database there is no Archive action, when I try server-based archive it says it’s not set up on the database.
Any ideas on if/how this can be accomplished? (Preferably without scripting/programming)
The reason why you do not see the Archive settings or archive now actions is because they are hidden. To unhide them open the database in designer and go under the agents section. Locate the Archive Now and Archive settings agents and renamed them from (Archive Now) to Archive Now and (archivesettings) to archivesettings etc… The parentheses cause the agent not to show up under the action menu bar. Renaming the agent will allow you to select the option from the Notes Client.
