Dear all,

we are using automatical Domino archiving via policy (all mails older than 180 days are archived).

The archiving is working for about 2600 users very well (we are very satisfied).

But in meantime, the needed disk space is steadily increasing (more than 3 TB at the moment).

This causes some problems:

  • long running backup

  • needing bigger backup capacity

  • longer opening times for mail archives (the biggest one are about 22 GB at the moment)

  • bigger danger of getting corrupt mail archives because of the size

My question is, if there is a possibility creating archives from archives (e.g. via Notes policy or other meachanism)?

Subject: We removed archive functions from archive dbs in 8.5.1

Since this was causing end-user confusion and problems. If existing archive repositories are getting too big, you may want to add a new criteria set to your user mailfiles, where this new set will write to a different server.
