I have a lotus notes 8 client. I used to archive to a file (which is over 5GB now) and suddenly I find that all my archive emails have started disappearing from the 31st of July. Any mail I archived before that is available. I have no clue why this is happening and any help would be much appreciated.

My first thought is that perhaps your archive settings changed, and your newly archived messages are going to a different archive file than the old ones. When you look for them, you’re checking the old file, thus not seeing them.
It’s an easy thought to test:
Archive something and go look for it right away. Is it there and then disappears later, or is it not there to being with?
Check the File>Application>Properties>Filename of your archive. Then go into Actions>Archive>Settings and look at the filename for the archive settings you’re using. Do they match exactly?
