Hi guys, its me again asking for help
one of two help requests actually, i have dominos 6.51 on Linux AS 2.1 and clients using windows and 6.51 lotus or 6.01 arabic clients, also some users use IMAP and outlook express to check thier emails from dominos.
my problem is when writing emails internally in arabic its fine all the way, but when getting emails from outside the domain the subject and the body are of funny characters and unreadable characters. It happened in all my clients over 200 of them, using notes client or exchange. but the same emails before they were migrated to notes from exchange read arabic characters fine. I read previous postings and done all that and did not work still, even when i right click and chooose encoding arabic windows or whatever…still nothing is working? any help?
thanx

You say that you “read previous postings and done all that”, but you do not say what you discovered. Are the Body items in these e-mails Rich Text or are they MIME Part? If they are MIME Part, what charset do they specify? What do the funny characters look like – can you copy and paste an example here?

I do not recognise those funny characters. Did you type them or did you copy and paste them from one of the e-mails?There is no charset “windows -arabic”. Look in the document properties. Go through the Body items one by one until you find the one that has the Content-Transfer-Encoding and Content-Type headers near the top. Copy and paste these headers from the properties infobox into your reply.
If you like, you can also forward one of the e-mails to me. I will see if I can discover anything about it. My e-mail address is in my profile.
