Applications Window Broken

I was working in Designer when I noticed that I had three Shared Actions groupings in a database in the Apppications window.

Clicking on one of these caused Designer to crash.

On subsequent attempts to re-open Designer, I now get the following error message showing up in the Applications Window.

java.lang.NullPointerException

Rest removed, you get the idea

I cannot open or create new applications.

I have repaired Designer, removed it and readded it to no avail.

Could it be that the working sets may be corrupt and the error is being thrown on an attempt to read these?

I have scanned this forum and found no like situation.

My next step if noone knows of a resolution is to wipe out and completely reinstall the entire set of Notes apps, Client, Designer, and Admin, and wipe the entire windows directory to make sure.

Thanks for any insight you may have.

Subject: Try deleting the .metadata folder

… of your notes\data\workspace. As usual - backing it up before deletion may be a good idea

Subject: This works!

Thanks, Sven!

I just got the same error for the second time this week! The first time, I was dead in the water for a whole day and finally uninstalled/re-installed Notes/Domino Designer.

This time, I saw your post and it certainly saved me some time!

Thank you. Deleting the .metadata folder fixed it for me.

For future web search hits…

First time in 6 months of use. I have Teamstudio tools installed and OpenNTF’s Xpages extensions.

Subject: Thanks - That worked for me too!

I appreciate the tip, that saved me a lot of time with a re-install + config
