We are planning to move (consolidate) the applications from 6 different servers to 2 and I have two favor to ask.
I am looking for a procedure,methodology and approach document on how to execute ?
Not all the applications used by all the users. Once I move the applications to a different server. I need to update the bookmark of all the user’s notes client. Is there an automated way to perform this. Like, look at the notes client and update the bookmark to new server for the applications there are using.
Any info/document in application consolidation would be a great help.
You will find a lots of documentation. Nothing will fit EXACTLY your environment but it will give you excellent guidelines.
For applications, you have to check a few things. Just to name a few, not in particular order…
is there any user activtiy in the db, number of users, number of documents, any readers fields, replication formula, hard coded design elements, agents -scheduled agents, odbc connections, LEI, SQL connections, errors in log.nsf db, etc.
2- for your user, there is a free product (From IBM ) called Dsktool. If you want to pay, you can use products from Binary Tree (http://www.binarytree.com) or Help Software (http://www.helpsoft.com)
