Append field if combobox = YES

Hi there,

I have an app and it has one form called Administration, witch has the fields Administrators and Notifiers and another form called PROMO.

This form has several fields and I want to control the readers security, using a combobox “Information is Confidential?” If NO, i have to append the notifiers to the Readers field but I’m very new in lotus script…

Thanks for any help!

Subject: Append field if combobox = YES

You can put a readers field on the form and set it to ‘Computed’ with a formula similar to:

@If(

IsConfidential = “YES”;

  Notifiers;

“”

)

The above formula puts the list of notifiers into the Readers field if the value of the Confidential field is set to ‘YES’. If the value of the Confidential field is set to any other value then the Readers field gets cleared and the document is visible to everyone.

It’s also a good idea to add a role to the readers field which you can put servers in so that hidden documents can still be read & replicated by the servers. Hence an ammended formula might be:

@If(

IsConfidential = “YES”;

  Notifiers : "[ReadAll]";

“”

)

You would then of course add the ‘ReadAll’ role to the database ACL and put the appropriate server names/groups (LocalDomainServers) in the role.

Hope this helps.

hi Alex! thanks for the quicky response!!!

I created the readers field using the formula you mentioned but it still doesnt work. I just get “”.

Do I have to set the field to computed, computed for display or computed when composed option? What happens when the user changes the combobox value? will the reader’s field be automatically updated?

Thanks again!!
