Anyone using the 7.0.2 Blog feature?

I am wondering if anyone is using the new blog feature in Dom 7.0.2, because I am having a problem.

I created a new blog and created a new category called Phone Items. I then created a new content entry called Cisco 7940/60 IP Phone User guide. I put the content under the Phone Items category, however, if I look at the categories from the web like a user would there is nothing under there. I see the entry in recent entries and I can click on the entry and it opens up fine, but again, isn’t categorized. Can someone tell me what I may have missed or point me into a direction where there is a good manual?

Thanks in advance

Joseph:

First, double check that your document isn’t still marked as a “draft”, which is the default when you create a new document.

Secondly, although it’s for the ‘previous version’, you can find lots of documentation on DominoBlog at Steve Castledine’s site:

Thanks for the response Rob. The new content is published, as I can see it from a Web browser on a differnt computer. I will definately check out Steve’s page.

Thanks again.

Try this - set the document back the way you want it, then go to the Wizards button in the content view in Notes and choose Administration - Rebuild Site Indexes. Made other stuff show up for me.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that the ‘Page’ value does not get filled in on pages I create via the Web. If I re-save them in Notes, they’re fine.

It’s really sluggish when browsing over the web. I’m hoping it’s just a configuration issue with the blog.

I figured out how to get the new content into the proper category, but I don’t understand it. In the newly created content, I have an attachment included in it and I turned off Comments, because it is just to be used as a resource. Once I turned the comments back on, I went back into the blog, it appeared in the Phone Items Category. Not sure if this is how it is suppose to act or if something is goofy.

If you can shed any light on this, I would appreciate it.
