Anyone know how to Delete a category? Help says

I have found at least 3 different threads, all hitting on the same question but none are answered adaequately or at all. Hoping for better luck here. I cannot figure out how to delete categories created in To Do. The Client Help states “The database designer has to enable your ability to delete the category name from your list of categories”. Not being a designer and unable to find any clues in Designer Help leaves me scrathcing my head wondering why this can be so easily created yet so painful to delete.

Thanks in advance,

Daniel

Subject: How to delete a category for Todo items

The categories you add for Todo items in your mail file are stored in your mail preferences. You do not need to use Domino Designer to access these. Open your mail file preferences by using the Tools action button then Preferences. OR use the menu Actions >> Tools >> Preferences. In the resulting dialog, open the Calendar and Todo tab then look at the bottom of the Basics tab. The list of categories you have added to Todo and Calendar items are listed here. You can delete one or all of these choices so they are not in the list for new Todo or Calendar items.

Changing this list will not change the Todo or Calendar documents that already exist.

There are other choices that are listed in Todo and Calendar documents and to change this list you need to use Domino Designer. For Todo documents, open the form Todo form in Domino Designer then locate the field labeled Categories. Open the field properties and on the second tab you see the list of ‘hard coded’ choices. This formula also pulls choices from your profile document that you saw earlier in mail preferences dialog.

If you want to add/delete choices, change the first part of the formula - each choice here has an unique alias and is separated by a colon.
