We use many shared computers in classrooms where staff have Lotus Notes accounts but do not have network accounts.
As they switch IDs from a shared network folder all day, the new 8.5 client displays the annoying prompt every time: "This Notes client supports multiple users. To use your own provate data, log into the Operating System using your own personal logon and relaunch Notes. Do you wish to continue with Switch ID?
Is there any way to turn this nag off?
Note we are currently running Notes basic client r8.5.1 with Dom 6.5.6 server because our new Windows 7 (64) workstations would not work with the r6.5.6 client.
it looks like there’s no way to avoid some warning/question if you switch IDs from a multi-user installation of Notes. Is there any reason it has to be a multi-user installation?
Sometimes, we setup secondar users on these machines that do in fact have network accounts, so we thought it would have the advantage of providing those users with the full client experience.
It may not be worth the bother then. I just discovered that the multi-user install is also preventing me from runnng the 8.5.2. upgrade.
