Any way to do rounding at category level?

i have few documents, their invoices some time are less than USD 500, eg: usd 400, USD 501, usd 499.50.

My report require to display in thousands, and mgt want to see perfect rounding, i.e no rounding errors.

thus, when I make use of @rounding, at USD 1000, those with values less than USD 500 will become zeros.

Thus, I am wondering can I do rounding at category level, but not at document level in a view? tq.

You can choose the number of significant digits to display after the decimal point in column formatting, but there’s no way to specify the rounding to digits above the decimal point.

Why don’t you divide the row values by 1000, and than display 0 digits accuracy, and label the column K$?

The rounding is only done on display, so the totals should still be accurate.

Problem is that I am going to export it at category level to MS Excel, however, it will give me to different figures, even though I displayed in using /1000, with rounding and without rounding. If I don’t use rounding, it will gives me the correct total, but the numbers looks bit funny , coz 0.5 + 2.5 should give me 3. But if I do rounding, it will display as 4 , if I use /1000, it will show total for category as 3, which is what I want, but when I expand, I’ll see 1 + 3 instead, due to the display is in nearest rounding.

nice to hear it again from you Shawn! I miss the 4400 season 4

Will,

Build a view that calculates the totals you want to round in the column and round that value. That way you get around the rounding issue.

Look at @sum to generate your totals. This won’t use the catogorized view you have. I am not sure you would do that as I don’t think you have any control programmatically of the totals/subtotals in the category.
