Is there any way to assign a keyboard command to common repetiive actions? Specifically (maybe this is built-in already?), I want a keyboard way to mark the currently selected (viewed in the preview pane) document/e-mail as selected (the check mark on the side) so I can go through dozens of messages with just the arrow keys and mark SPAM’s or any other group of messages, which I would then later move them all as a group.
Ideally, like in MS Outlook and the rest of Office, I could record the action I want, then assign it to a button or keyboard shortcut. There is no way to do this in Notes, is there? Any programming in Notes has to be done in Designer, is that right? There’s no automatic coding through macro-recording is there? I wish there were - it’s also a great, easy way to start learning how to use built-in coding languages like VBA and LotusScript.
Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks,
Colin

Do a search on “Keyboard Shortcuts” in the Help file - there’s pages of them there.

Yes, thanks. I’m familiar with those. Not really what I was asking about though. Is there any way to assign shortcut keys to commands that I choose. Simple macro-creation. Is that doable in Notes without writing lots of code?
Thanks,
Colin

Why not?The GUI could have a console key where you could modify options such as keyboard mappings and assignments. Think about the possibilities! Of course, everyone will need to upgrade their graphics card first.
Seriously though, it would be nice to be able to edit the INI file or some file like that to establish custom hotkeys, keyboard shortcuts, etc…

We all answered your example rather than your question - sorry about that.
There’s no easy way that I know of to assign code to shortcuts (though I could well be wrong.) You can write simple @Formula code and assign it to a SmartIcon (Toolbar Button now) - maybe that’s another approach for you?
