Any way for non-author to modify document eg. Agent?

I want to be able to allow a user to add some fields to a document but they do not have author access. I have tried creating an agent and using run on behalf of but didn’t work. I don’t think it is intended for that anyway. Basically is there a way in notes that you can give a user author access while running an action / agent??

Give the user the ability to run the agent, but have the agent run as if it were the server.
