I am a newly trained Domino 8.5 Admin with absolutely no experience. My company is upgrading from a mixed environment of 6.5/7 to 8.5.1 and our previous Admin retired.
Once I was trained I was ready to implement everything I learned especially statistics, generating reports, etc. For example, a pending request is to create mail usage reports tracking the number of outbound smtp mail messages by user, size etc. I was ready to start when someone mentioned performance issues such as statistics take alot of cpu time to run and that is why we don’t/shouldn’t do these types of statistical reporting.
I would like to know if there is any data detailing the impact statistics/reporting, etc. have on servers and/or tools on how to determine the impact on our own servers.
