Any opposite of @Contains formula

If I want to make selection of documents that do not contain, say, apple, in field fruit, but any @Command formula, I can only find @contains, but not @NotContains. Please help

Are you sure you don’t want @IsNotMember? Either that or !@Contains

Will Smith2,

If you want to make your code friendlier to the next developer who will work on it.

Maybe use something like:

filed != value

It’s easier for the next guy to follow.

Just my opinion.

Tq Shawn for your suggesiton, just that from experience, != bit confusing, especially if I have more than one variable, an it some time doesn’t work.

Eg:

Select form = Budget & FieldA!=“Car” | FieldA!=“Van”, I don’t know domino read as Budget and FieldA=Car, or any with FieldA=Van or Budget and FieldA=Car, Budget and FieldA=Van

Maybe you know better how domino interpretes it?

Cheerio!

The selection formula above says:

Select every document where the form is Budget and the Field value of the field called “fieldA” does not contain the word “car” or the word “van”.

The thing to do is use brackets to seperate you statements and to add comments to your code.

Like this:

REM {Select the Budget form docs that don’t contain car or van in FieldA}

Select (Form = Budget & FieldA!=“Car”) | (Form = Budget & FieldA!=“Van”)

This helps to keep your logic clear. Sometimes it means you write more code, but it makes it easier to work with in the future.

I’ll suggest it again

Select form = Budget & @IsNotMember(FieldA; “Car”:“Van”)

This would make the most sense from what you describe.

Actually, that does make more sense. Follow Ben’s lead.

Search the development help for ‘Operators’.

The ‘!’ is the NOT operatore.

So use, !@Contains.

Tqvm, Shawn, it is so much simpler for an experienced personnel to just point out. I was searching hard, but never know about !@Contains, as I only used !=, no one ever told me about !@ can also be used. have an enjoyable weekend!!!
