Any names.nsf problems using diff clients

We have an issue with a 3rd party app using Notes. We have not yet converted all of our mail databases to R6 yet. We are currently running 6.5.3 on the server, and a combination of R5.x and R6.5.3 and 6.5.4 clients. I need to get everyone using the 6.5.4 client as soon as possible to get over our issue.

One of the problems I am concerned about is if I update an R5 client to 6.5.4 (a laptop user), but this user also connects via Citrix Nfuse with an R5 client (when travelling), using a copy of their names.nsf on the Citrix installation, will it cause problems or corruption of the names.nsf or their mail database at all? Remember, these clients are still using the R5 mail database.

Thanks in advance.

Subject: Any names.nsf problems using diff clients

Steve,

If I understand your question correctly - an R6.5.X client should not have any problems opening an R5 database. Lotus has gone to great lengths to make the software backwards compatible (unlike certain other email programs). However, I have not worked on Citrix for several years, so I would recommend testing this scenario with a fictitional user before implementation in the production environment.
