Another Corportate Welcome Page problem

Hello.

I have created a corporate welcome page and applied it to a desktop settings policy. The modified welcome page show up correctly in the Default Welcome page field on the Desktop settings policy doc. I have the check-mark on “Do not allow users to change Welcome page”.

The users that I assign the policy to, receives the custom Welcome page. The users are not able to change welcome page so that seems ok, but they can still modify (edit this page) the page that I push from the server.

If I edit the page on the server, It overwrites the page that the users have modified.

I don`t want to let the users modify the page, is that possilbe?

Maybe I have done something wrong?

when running in Advanced mode* the corporate welcome page database, you get an additional screen in the Welcome Page Wizard with administrative options. One of those checkboxes is “Allow end users to edit this page”. Default is “on”, but if you un-check the box, end-users will not be able to edit the layout.

If you would like them to edit some items and not others, while running in Advanced mode you can also “lock” individual items to prevent them from being edited.

*Information on Advanced mode can be found in your administrator’s guide.

I have un-checked the box you are refering to.And I run the “Advanced mode” agent before I start making the welcomepage.

I tried to delete the welcomedatabase, I deleted the Destop settings, I reinstalled the Notes client (delete Data dir allso).

I then made a new Welcomedatabase, a new Desktop setting an installed Notes using a new user. I beleave all old settings should be deleted.

Everything works fine except that the user still can edit the Corporate page.

When I un-check the “allow users to edit this welcome page” box, the “Customize This Page” hotspot is hidden from the top frame of the welcome page. Could you please provide details as to how they are able to edit their welcome page? Are your users seeing the “Customize This Page” hotspot? Are they editing it in some other way?

My users can not see the “Customize This Page” hotspot. They can see the “Edit this Page” hotspot and they are allowed to edit the page that I push from the server. Is that enough info?

thanks, Per, that helps a lot. No, you did not do anything wrong. You have uncovered a bug.

I find that this bug happens if you create a “Personal Page” welcome page. The “Edit This Page” hotsopt should be hidden. (I cannot reproduce the problem when creating a “Framed” welcome page.)

I am going to submit a fix for this for R7 Notes. If you feel strongly that it should be fixed in a QMR, please go through Support channels and submit a PMR against bug #DBRO5YRMRD.

I ve the same problem with Domino R8 Server and Notes R7.0.2 Client.

Edit This Page hotspot hidden but when the user double click on welcome page. user can edit the page i pushed.

Am i doing sth wrong?
