I have two tabbed tables on a form. Both tables work as you would expect when they are seperate entities on the form. My annoyance starts when I cut the second tabbed table and paste it into any row/tab of the first table. Selecting the tab that now holds the second tabbed table displays the second table, however, the focus of the second table is NOT on the first tab, but the second tab.
In table properties you can set is so you can programatically control the focus of tabbed tables using a special field. Say your table Name/Id is ‘Workflow’ then you can edit the ‘$Workflow’ field and put in the label of your desired tab like this example from the PostOpen event of the form:
@If(
Status=“”; FIELD $Workflow:= “Tab One”;
Status=“Draft”; FIELD $Workflow:= “Tab One”;
Status=“Update Required”; FIELD $Workflow:= “Tab Two”;
Status=“Update Complete”; FIELD $Workflow:= “Tab Three”;
Thanks Brian, unfortunately, your solution did not work for me.
My co-worker did some additional testing and discovered that a popup text hotspot located in the second row of my inner table was the culprit. When we removed the hotspot property the second table opened with the first tab having focus. My solution was then to create another “null” hotspot on the first tab of the second table which worked fine.
Funny how this hotspot did not cause a problem until I inserted it into another table!
