Does anyone know how to get rid of the ugly, loud CLANK noise you get when you start or stop the debugger?

Sure, switch off your speakers. 
Honestly, I find it far more annoying, that this very same sound is played, when - scrolling through some LotusScript code - you reach the end of the code, but don’t get your finger off the keyboard immediately. It’s the end of the code. Well, yeah, I see that. Don’t bug me with a separate CLANK for every key stroke in the keyboard buffer.

Change or disable Default Beep in sounds of your Windows Control Panel.
