Two New Notes and Domino 8.5 Courses for Developers and Administrators
The Learning Continuum Company has released two distance learning courses. Notes and Domino 8.5 Application Development Update covers the all new Domino 8.5 Designer in Eclipse client and XPages. Topics include the changes in web development including new HTML generation options and the new DOJO rich text editor, and the use of CSS and Themes to quickly style Domino elements on a web page including how to change the appearance of all the views in a database without having to change the design. This course provides a great introduction to the all new XPages. Learn how to create XPages to show Domino views and documents including how to combine a view and document on the same web page. Also covered are the new Java and LotusScript programming interfaces as well as what’s new in Composite Applications. This course will prepare the student to take the certification exam (951) required to update their existing certification to IBM Certified Application Developer - Lotus Notes and Domino 8.5.
Notes Domino 8.5 System Administration Update is for experienced Notes and Domino 8.0 administrators and covers the new features in Notes and Domino 8.5. This self-paced course covers how the Domino Configuration Tuner can help fine-tune a Domino environment, how to use the new Domino Attachment and Object Service (DAOS) to store attachments outside of Domino databases and the new changes for implementing dynamic Policies. Students learn how to take advantage of the new ID Vault to safely store all the user id files in a database to let users recover their password and id file on their own without the need for help from a support person. They also learn how to setup Notes Shared Login to allow Notes users to use their Windows login to automatically unlock their Notes user id file. The course will prepare the student for the update exam (956) required to update their certification to IBM Certified System Administrator - Lotus Notes and Domino 8.5.
These two course each have a retail price of $399, but, through March 31st, TLCC is offering an introductory special of $349 for either course.
