Android 8.5.2.1 Issues, Kills Battery and will not uninstall!

How are people getting on with the new Android Traveler.

I installed it Friday, and since then (when its connected) It seems to eat battery. I assume it running my HTC Desire at full CPU, as I can feel the cpu heat coming through the case! Also, to save on battery, I thought I would uninstall it, I seem unable to do this also! Even after forcing a stop, and clearing cache!

Is there a new revision on the way? I really wanted this to work, to offer an alternative to i-phone?

Cheers

Dan

Subject: Battery life issue here too

We’ve just installed 8.5.2.1 to allow Android support. Previously we’d been using the manual synch option very successfully to synch as needed. Now the manual options seem to be ignored and the client keeps a seemingly permanent connection to the server despite the settings. The battery life is terrible. Not only that, but occasional users on a daily fixed rate data charge are being charged every day for the connection even if no synch is taking place. This is happening on our Windows Mobile clients as well as the Android ones. We’re about to uninstall from all our phones as it’s killing them. A new build is needed urgently!!

Manual sync still works as it did before, so something else is probably going on here. It could be a push message or sync loop or something like that. For anything like this, we’d need client and server logs and a PMR to look at it and fix it. You need to open a PMR as this sounds atypical.
