An Easy one?

Hi everyone, after searching the forums, I found many answers similar to this, but at a higher level than I need/understand.

I feel this should be easy, I’m just not getting any where.

I am trying to create a button for my Notes toolbar that will insert my initials “JB” and the current date and time as text (assuming the cursor is in a text field). What formula could I insert on the button to make this happen? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!!

Did you look at @SetField?

Thanks Doug…I’ve seen that in other posts (and searched to figure how it relates) but can’t find anything basic enough to show me from scratch.

as a side note, why aren’t all the command functions in Lotus Notes Help? Or, am I just not finding them altogether?

Are you looking in the client help db or the designer help db? @SetField and all the other functions are listed in the design help db.

Well that would explain it…I’ve only got the client installed, not designer.

It seems you folks are my only resource at the moment. How can I write the formula to get the current time/date in a button on the toolbar? THANKS!

Give this a whirl…

@Command([EditInsertText] ; "JB - " + @Text(@Now))
