Hello everyone! I have a quick question.

Is it possible to configure Directory Assistance to alternate between the servers listed in the hostname field for a remote ldap directory?

If so, how? If not, is there an alternative?

Sorry, DA does not do what you are suggesting (unless the LDAP servers are alternately failing J).

If you are trying to “load balance” the LDAP requests among a set of LDAP servers with replicated content, google “ldap network sprayers”. The article below seems to describe IBM’s eNetwork Dispatcher which might fit your requirements - I have no first hand experience in this area.

Thanks Ken. I didn’t think DA would do that, but it’s always good to ask a panel of experts just to ensure you’re giving accurate data. I’ll check out that link.
