What is the difference between Alloy and SAP Connector?

Basically there are 2 ways to differentiate the two offerings:
Technical
The SAP Connector uses directly SAP specific interfaces (RFC / BAPI) to connect to SAP and read / write data. Alloy is completely based on webservices that establish a bidirectional integration between the two systems. Furthermore Alloy provides a SingleSign On, message routing and load balancing.
Integration focus
The SAP Connector is a technical tool. A developer needs to (re)build the business logic in Notes. Alloy provides a process integration, which means it hooks currently in the SAP Workflow and reporting processes and allows a Notes user to participate in these SAP processes from Notes client.
In the next version Alloy probably will also provide access directly to all other SAP business Objects. But there will still be a need for the SAP Connector, for example for Mass Transfers.
