Allow Application Relay

Hi,

I have a R5.0.12 SMTP server (Server A) running to Windows. I want to allow application server (Server X) to relay to this SMTP server to route out mail to the internet. This is what I did :

Under Configuration Document/Router/SMTP/Restrictions and Controls/SMTP Inbound Controls/

Under Inbound Relay Controls

Allow messages only from the following external internet hosts to be sent to external internet domains : [ip address]

But it did not work. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Subject: Allow Application Relay

You’re looking in the right place, but you need to check this field:

Deny messages to be sent to the following external internet domains: (* means all)

By default the field will have an * - which means that all relays to the internet will be blocked. Remove the *

Thanks, Paul. This is a R5 server and I don’t have this field. Any other suggestion ?
